Medical Report SoftwareMedical Report Software is used to monitor day to day operations of the medical billing system to find out whether the software system is operating properly or not. There are so many bills coming each day that it becomes difficult to frequently check the operation of the software system and unusual problems may arise due to carelessness and negligence. Not only that, thousands of records may be lost resulting in serious effects on the companies that are running them and so on. Thus, some basic system reports should be run periodically to ensure better performance of the software. The first report is the error report, which has to be run, on a daily basis, to track out any kind of errors that occur while processing all the software packages. Either this can be submitting claims while processing or printing forms for running other reports. The number of errors occurring must be less; otherwise, a gradual increase of daily errors will be an indication of problems with the software. For example, if a corrupted database is suspected, it must thereby be checked with a utility. The second report is called the failed request report. Almost all the software packages that are available nowadays themselves have the failed request capability. If, however, a package does not provide the capability or produce a limited one, the failed request report has to run on the server. Many DME software packages contain limited failed request reports which do not access the full report with all details that one needs. In case of a bad network connection, the network administrator has to run, and the wiring and network cards need to be checked, so that the root of the problem is identified. The failed requests exceed from a particular computer which usually narrows down the search for the actual wrongdoer. There is also another report on network activity and system resources which need to run. If the billing department did not hit a massive number, the server should act in a minimal way, and the memory usage may not be able to gather any detectable effect. On the other hand, if any spikes are detected in the memory usage, its frequent occurrence has to be noted. Therefore, it is important to find out the heaviest periods regarding the billing and other activities by way of network activity and system resources report, and identifying whether this is causing problem to the activity on the server. Lastly, a report, on the rate at which the databases are increasing in size, has to run to find out whether their capacity is going beyond or they are within the controllable limits. It is quite usual that in a large medical billing company, the databases will also be massive. Though the server capacity may be found in the gigabytes, but there will not be enough disk space to put all the medical billings. Once the increase is detected, plans should be made to either add another drive to put all the billings properly or the current one has to be upgraded. The reports are all designed to go through a proper functioning of the medical billing system; otherwise one may be out of this business without being noticed. |
